Dear Speakers and Attendees,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 International Symposium on Structure-based Drug Discovery (ISDD), organized by POSTECH. I extend my sincere appreciation for your interest and participation in this event.

POSTECH has long been at the forefront of structural biology in Korea. Since 1995, we have operated the nation’s first synchrotron, the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL), which has enabled groundbreaking research in the field. In 2016, the PAL-XFEL facility joined as a powerful companion, driving numerous exciting scientific discoveries. Most recently, several state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) instruments have been installed to enable structural studies of some of the most challenging target proteins.

The integration of these cutting-edge techniques into drug discovery marks an important direction for the future of structural biology in Korea. With this vision, we launched the ISDD symposium six years ago to foster advancements in structural biology and to promote active exchange of innovative ideas among researchers from academia and industry. We are committed to continuing this tradition by hosting distinguished scholars from around the world each year.

We warmly welcome everyone with an interest in structural biology and its applications in drug discovery, and we look forward to the stimulating discussions and collaborations that will emerge from this year’s symposium.
